There was quite a bit of excitement this weekend as local police, firetrucks and ambulances rushed to the Port Credit Harbor to try to rescue a man that had driven his car into the river. I walked over to the Snug Harbor restaurant Monday night to see what at the excitement was about. According to the witnesses at the scene, they had seen a man in a red Porsche drive from the Snug Harbor restaurant right over the dock and into the center of the river. When I had arrived (approx 30 min after the car had plunged into the water, they had just found the car and removed the man from it. They pulled him to the shore and performed C.P.R on him and sent him to the hospital via ambulance. I heard in the news the next day that it was a 68 year old man and they had no idea why he would have driven it into the water.
